Our competitions

The NTNA offers a range of competitions for all ages and abilities. 

  • Played across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the NTNA Midweek Winter Roster is a 17 round competition running from April to September 2026 with a 3 week finals series in August/September for Senior athletes. 

    Teams are graded prior to the commencement of the rostered season in a short 2 week grading roster, which is played at the Tasmanian Netball Centre, Newstead. Grading games are played between Monday 9th - Wednesday 18th March 2026, with 23rd - 25th March pencilled in as a washout week, if required.

     

    Round 1 will commence on Monday 13th - Wednesday 15th April 2026, through to Round 17 commencing on Monday 10th August 2026. In 2026, the NTNA Midweek Winter Roster will be played at the Northern Suburbs Community Recreation Hub, Mowbray.

     

    Grand Finals will be played on Monday 31st August, Tuesday 1st September and Wednesday 2nd September.

    Please note there is a $2 Spectator Entry Fee. Players, Umpires, Coaches, Team Mangers, one scorer per team and children 12&U do not pay. EFTPOS and cash payments accepted.

    The NTNA Midweek competition uses PlayHQ e-Scoring. For more information on how to score, please watch this video.

    The competition is divided amongst 11 divisions:

    U19 - Monday Night

    Div 4A - Monday Night

    Div 4B - Monday Night

    Div 4C - Monday Night

    Div 4D - Monday Night

    Div 1 - Tuesday Night

    Div 2 - Tuesday Night

    Div 3 - Tuesday Night

    Div 5 - Wednesday Night

    Div 6 - Wednesday Night

    Div 7 - Wednesday Night

     

    If you would like to participate in the Midweek Winter Roster, you must be a registered member of a participating NTNA club.

  • Played on Friday's and Saturday's, the NTNA Junior Winter Roster is a 15 round competition running from May to August with a 3 week finals series in September 2026.

    Grading for U15 & U17 will be held on Saturday 14th March & Saturday 21st March 2026

    Grading for U11 & U13 will be held on Sunday 15th March & Sunday 22nd March 2026

    Addition grading dates have been set for Saturday 28th March and Sunday 29th March, if required

    for wash out games or additional crossover games.

    Round 1 of the Junior Roster commences on Friday 1st May and Saturday 2nd May 2026.

    U17 games will be played on a Friday afternoon and U11, U13 and U15 games will be played on a Saturday.

    There will be no games over the June Long Weekend (Friday 5th June/Saturday 6th June) or during

    school holidays (Friday 17th July/Saturday 18th July and Friday 24th July/Saturday 25th July).

    Finals commence on Friday 4th September and Saturday 5th September 2025, with Grand Finals

    being held on Friday 18th September and Saturday 19th September 2025.

    The Junior Winter Roster will be played at the Tasmanian Netball Centre & Northern Suburbs Community Recreation Hub, with distribution of games across the two venues on Saturdays to be determined after divisions have been finalised. All U17 games will be played at the NSCRH on Friday afternoons.

    The competition is divided amongst four age groups; 11&U, 13&U, 15&U and 17&U and then divided into divisions. Divisions available are subject to change each year based on the number of teams submitted to the competition and results of grading weekends.

     

    Concurrent to this roster is the NetSetGo roster, also played on a Saturday at Tasmanian Netball Centre. NetSetGo is a modified netball game for beginner netballers aged 7 to 10 years old.

  • NTNA is proud to be a part of the Netball Australia Woolworths NetSetGo Program, played on Saturdays at the Tasmanian Netball Centre, concurrent to the NTNA Junior Roster. NetSetGo is open to girls and boys aged 7 to 10 years old.

    The NSG Winter Roster commences on Saturday 2nd May 2026 and runs for 15 rounds. NSG teams will also play on Grand Final Day on Saturday 19th September 2026.

    NetSetGo play an altered set of rules to help young children learn the rules of netball, this includes use of a size 4 netball, lowered goal posts and games are not scored - full NetSetGo rules can be found here

    ‘Set’ Tier: – Ages 7-8

    This level, our budding netballers build on their movement and coordination - while being introduced to new skills and simple match play.

    Games: 4 x 8-minute quarters

    Intervals: 2 minutes at ¼ and ¾ time and 4 minutes at ½ time

    ‘Go’ Teir: – Ages 9-10

    Children will refine their netball techniques while continuing to improve their overall coordination and have fun while transitioning toward junior netball.

    Games: 4 x 10-minute quarters

    Intervals: 2 minutes at ¼ and ¾ time and 4 minutes at ½ time

  • Played on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the 'The V' (old YMCA Gym - Blayden Street, Kings Meadows), our indoor social roster is played in a ‘Fast 5’ rules format. Ladies Social is played on Tuesday's and Mixed Social is played on Wednesday's.

    Our next indoor roster will be held in Autumn for 8 rounds commencing on 28th and 29th April 2026. Team entries will open on Wednesday 11th March and will be posted on the NTNA Facebook page.

    The following indoor roster will be held in Winter for 8 rounds commencing on 21st and 22nd July 2026. Team entries will open on Wednesday 24th June and will be posted on the NTNA Facebook page.

    'Fast 5' Modified Rules include:

    • 5 players on the court (GS, GA, C, GD, GK), with rolling subs

    • 4 x 10 minute quarters

    • Shots inside the circle are worth 1, shots outside the circle are worth 2

    • Each team gets a ‘Power Play’ quarter, in which points are doubled

    • Qualified umpires are supplied by the NTNA for all games
       

    Our social rosters have high participation and spots fill up quickly. If you don't have a team to register with, please email us and we can help place you with a team.

  • Played on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Tasmanian Netball Centre, our outdoor social roster is played in the standard rules format. Ladies Social in played on Tuesday's and Mixed Social is played on Wednesday's.

    Summer 7’s is played in the traditional 7-a-side netball format, with 4 x 12-minute quarters.

     

    Summer 7’s Women Roster

    • 8-week roster

    • $96 roster fee (+ any applicable Netball Tas/Netball Aus fees)

    • Tuesday nights, 13th January – 3rd March 2026

    • 14 years and older, rolling subs in play, umpires supplied

     

    Summer 7’s Mixed Roster

    • 8-week roster

    • $96 roster fee (+ any applicable Netball Tas/Netball Aus fees)

    • Wednesday nights, 14th January – 4th March 2026

    • 14 years and older, max 3 males on the court at a time, rolling subs in play, umpires supplied

     

    • Team registrations close 2nd January 2026

    • Player to team registrations close 5th January 2026

    • Vouchers to pay weekly available, please email us to request a code for you team

    • $15 per game for fill-in players

    Our social rosters have high participation and spots fill up quickly. Each roster typically runs for 8 weeks at a time.

    We are always looking for umpires to help officiate this roster, if you are keen to assist please email us.

  • The NTNA has two associated teams participating in the Tasmanian Netball League (TNL) in 2026, HITT Launceston Northern Hawks Netball Club and the F45 Cavaliers Netball Club.

    The TNL is run by Netball Tasmania and played across the state - further information on the structure of the TNL can be found here, including information for umpires and TNL contacts.
